Head of Marketing

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Co-CEO, the Head of Marketing is responsible for maximizing the commercial success of Aspyr’s game portfolio by driving demand, shaping go to market (GTM) strategy, and ensuring each title reaches its full market potential. This role leads the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across all titles, aligning closely with Product Management, Business Development, and Sales to deliver predictable, high impact results.

This leader balances creativity with operational discipline leveraging data, player insights, and experimentation to grow awareness, engagement, and revenue while maintaining alignment with company financial and lifecycle objectives.

Essential Functions:

Marketing Strategy & Go-To-Market

  • Define and lead global go to market (GTM) strategies across all titles
  • Partner with Product Management to influence product definition, positioning, and audience targeting early in the lifecycle
  • Establish clear success metrics and KPIs for each title, aligned to revenue and ROI targets
  • Ensure marketing strategies align with Aspyr’s midmarket AAA positioning and IP driven approach
  • Own the marketing budget across all titles, allocating resources against portfolio priorities and performance expectations.

Demand Generation & Campaign Execution

  • Lead execution of integrated marketing campaigns across PR, digital, paid media, influencer, and social channels
  • Drive awareness, engagement, and conversion through innovative and scalable campaign strategies
  • Optimize marketing mix and channel strategy based on performance data and audience insights
  • Continuously test and scale new marketing approaches to improve reach and efficiency

Data, Insights & Performance Optimization

  • Partner with Business Intelligence to build robust reporting and attribution models
  • Track campaign performance across defined data points (organic, paid, conversion, sentiment, etc.)
  • Translate insights into actionable improvements across campaigns and future titles
  • Drive forecasting accuracy and marketing ROI discipline

Partnerships & External Relationships

  • Serve as lead marketing point of contact with licensors, IP holders, and brand partners
  • Collaborate with licensors, platform partners (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam) , and agencies to amplify reach and comarketing opportunities
  • Manage external marketing vendors and ensure quality and performance standards
  • Align with Business Development and Sales to maximize distribution impact and promotional effectiveness

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high performing marketing team across key functions (brand, digital, PR, lifecycle, etc.)
  • Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure alignment with cross-functional teams (Product, Production, Creative, Sales)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Game Design, Marketing, or a related field; MBA a plus
  • 12 + years of experience in marketing or public relations within the video game industry
  • 5 + years of experience managing and mentoring high performing teams
  • Proven success leading GTM strategies for premium products
  • Strong understanding of player behavior, gaming audiences, and platform ecosystems
  • Experience managing multichannel campaigns (digital, influencer, PR, paid media)
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to drive decision making
  • Experience working with external partners, licensors, and agencies
  • Proven success delivering and growing commercially successful video game franchises
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to synthesize complex market, product, and partner inputs into actionable roadmaps
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across creative, technical, and executive teams
  • Experience working with licensed IPs and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with console and PC game markets, platform holder expectations, and evolving monetization models
  • Passion for gaming and a deep respect for both the art and business of making games
