HR Manager

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP of HR, the HR Manager is crucial to our business success overseeing a full spectrum of employee-related HR functions. People are our most important asset. Ensuring we have an engaged and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established vision and objectives will be your core focus. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of a complete HR Manager.

 

Being the go-to person for all employee-related matters, the HR Manager’s duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management.

 

Our ideal candidate has experience working in growing, fast-paced companies overseeing a variety of HR functions. You take a people-first approach aligning HR initiatives with the organization’s strategic business objectives and thrive in environments you can take ownership of a broad set of tasks and responsibilities. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

  • Maintain organizational structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

  • Support organization by administering recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.

  • Prepare new employees by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.

  • Manage a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.

  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.

  • Implement employee benefits program review by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts, and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.

  • Administer management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

  • Retain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • People-oriented and results-driven

  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics

  • Knowledge of HR systems

  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills

  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company

  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Previous growth company experience a plus
