RCT3 SOAKED - ROLLERCOASTERS ARE MORE THAN JUST GOOD FUN
JACK PATTILLO, TECHNICAL MARKETING ASSISTANT
One of my favorite games growing up was Sim City for the Super Nintendo, something about controlling all aspects of your little city (and then destroying it with earthquakes, tornados and Bowser) was insanely fun.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked takes the odd fascination with control to the next level. I spent my first few times playing the game correctly, learning how to set up soda stands, build roller coasters, pools, gigantic slides from pool to pool. That was loads of fun, but what I found to be more fun was creating attractions built specifically to send my little ‘peeps’ flying off to their doom.
Going to the top of the highest hill I could find in a stage, putting a body slide that drops the little guys down at break-neck speed then spins and throws them around like digital rag dolls and then launching them past the pool they were supposed to land in; nothing better than that.
Sure, maybe this isn’t the way the designers planned on having their game played but it goes to show you, this is a fun sandbox. This game is crazy fun, but the fact that you can play it how you want to play it says even more about it. Check this one out.
